Contributors Guidelines

Content Guidelines

All our writers, artists and other contributors are important to us. However certain guidelines should be followed in order to maintain uniformity of content. While we are Christian in our beliefs and we see the world through the unique lens of a ‘Christian Worldview’ we encourage people from other differing stand points also to express themselves. All creative content will be hosted at the discretion of the Content Review Team of Our Daily Bread Ministries, India.

Content Guidelines for Articles and Poems

  • All Artwork or Written content must be originals and relevant for the target audience which is Indian youth between 15-35 years.
  • All content needs to be created with the existing target audience in mind .
  • The content may be introspective, experiential, social, political or anything else that may appeal to young people. However, it will need to have a spiritual tie in at some level.
  • The name of ‘Jesus’ or a ‘Biblical’ principle or quote needs to be tied into any content piece submitted.
  • Content from other websites can be sourced in or hosted provided background checks have been satisfactory on the content developer and his/ her intentions.
  • No derogatory language or terms will be acceptable. Prominent political or social views will be sparingly entertained.
  • While content which has Christian values will be appreciated the views of non-believers will be entertained while stating that these are not the same views as those of the web owners.
Points to Note
  • Word limit of 500-750 words for Articles and 300-350 words for poems .
  • Catchy Title which is current and contextual.
  • Author must be open to editorial suggestions and changes.

Content Guidelines for Art and Media

  • Typography – Handwritten typography or graphically designed scripture or quotes
  • Photography – Landscape, nature, travel, motion, street, portraiture, still life and action photography
  • Paintings – Photos of paintings in water color, acrylic, oil, etc…
  • Videos – Stop motion, moving graphics, GIFs, film, etc.
  • Song/Music – Original song & lyrics compositions or music videos
  • Others – Embroidery, art installations, paper cutting, woodwork, etc…
Points to Note
  • Photos: jpg. Size: max 5mb
  • Graphic artworks: png, jpg, pdf. Size: max 5mb
  • Videos: mov, gif, mp4. Size: max 5mb
  • Song/Music: mp3, mp4. Size: max 5mb

* All artworks submitted must be original works designed by the artist. We will accept content that has been published or submitted elsewhere, but do note that all content will have to go through a vetting process before it is posted.

Things to Note

  1. ODM may change any of these guidelines at any time and post the amended guidelines on our website.
  2. All content will have to be vetted before it is posted.
  3. You may be asked to further tweak your artwork or articles if necessary.
  4. ODM may make last minute modifications to the title of your projects/contributions and the date of posting without information. All other changes to your content will be sent to you for your agreement before it is posted.
  5. ODM will only post your work when both sides reach an agreement on the revisions made (this excludes the title of the project and the date of posting).
