UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY

UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY

Bible: 2 Timothy 3:14-17
The word of God is alive and active (HEBREWS 4:12).

Reading

I studied the map as we drove up the east coast of Virginia, America, on our holiday. We were looking for any road that would take us to the seashore. Finally, I found one and we turned towards the sun.

In only a few minutes, we were amazed when—just before the seashore—we came to a national wildlife refuge. All around us were dunes, marsh, beach grasses and loads of seagulls, herons and blue herons. It was active and loud and wonderful! We had arrived at the Chincoteague and
Assateague Islands—famous for an annual pony swim from one island to the other. The locals knew its value and beauty, but to us it was undiscovered country.

The Bible is like an ‘undiscovered country’ to many. They have never explored the valuable treasures found in God’s words. The Bible is alive and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, revealing our deepest thoughts and needs (HEBREWS 4:12). It is like a lamp to light up our path ahead (PSALM 119:105), and it has been given to help us live out God’s purposes (2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17).

Open the Bible and read it so you can find these treasures. It’s time . . . to discover!

What I’m thankful for . . .

Father, thank You for the stories, truth, wisdom and love of Your words. Most of all, thank You that in its pages I can meet Jesus. Thank You that I can read the Bible and get to know You better through it.

RICH TREASURES OF GOD’S TRUTH ARE WAITING
TO BE FOUND BY YOU.
