FRIENDSHIP
Bible: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for
their labour (Ecclesiastes 4:9).
Reading
We all know how much better we feel when we have friends alongside us to share our lives and problems with. It was once famously said: “Friendship improves happiness and stops misery, by the doubling of our happiness and the halving of our sadness.” Friends can bring happiness and
share our problems.
King Solomon wrote about how good it is to have friends as well. In Ecclesiastes we read: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” (ECCLESIASTES 4:9-10). A life without friends can make things lonely and hard to bear. Friends are important. Friends offer help, advice and good company.
Think about your friends. Have you been ignoring those God has given you to share your ups and downs with? If so, make sure you send them a
message to encourage them. Try to hang out with them soon and share some of the stuff you’re going through. It’ll feel good to have a friend alongside you. Remember, “two are better than one”.
Thinking it over . . .
Who can you spend some time with this week to hang out and share life together?
