SHARING SPACE

SHARING SPACE

Bible: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

Those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are
indispensable (1 Corinthians 12:22).

Do you prefer working and studying as part of a group or on your own? Lots of people find that working alone can be a little too lonely. It can be hard when there is no one to help discuss ideas or simply enjoy having a chat with during a break. Even those who love their own space still have
times when they miss being with their friends.

Sometimes Christians think they work better alone. But we are meant to work together with others in the church. Every Christian has been placed into “the body of Christ” (1 CORINTHIANS 12:27). And God wants us to join and serve with a local community of Christians—using our gifts and skills together for His glory.

For lots of different reasons, many aren’t able to join in. Some may be stuck at home because of health issues and others may simply not know how to fit in at church. But they are a needed part of the body (VV.22-25). Who is there in your church who you can show welcome to? Who’s on the fringe of your youth group that you can go over and chat with? Let’s do our part to help others join in our church life. We work much better together than alone.

Thinking it over . . .

What can you do to help others feel a part of your church community? Visit, pray with them, read the Bible together, send a message or invite them over.
