IS CHANGE SO BAD?
Bible: John 10:7-18
I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep (10:14).

Most of us freak out when things change. Especially change we can’t control. We have no problem when we’re the ones making change happen. But when it happens to us, that’s totally different. When we have to move school, friends move away or things change in our families, we worry about what it will mean for us.
We can’t escape change. But actually it’s really important. Through change, we have the chance to grow and deepen our trust and reliance in God. We have a Shepherd who guides us through change and leads us forward. Getting where He wants us to go may be difficult, as it was for the
Israelites in reaching the Promised Land. They moaned when things got worse rather than better (EXODUS 15:24; NUMBERS 14:2). But we have the example of Jesus. In less than a week, He went from being the leader of many to being left all alone. Between Palm Sunday and Good Friday, the Good Shepherd became the sacrificial Passover Lamb. Because Jesus willingly went through suffering and death, God give Him the highest place (JOHN 10:11; PHILIPPIANS 2:8-9).
Not all change is nice, but when we’re being led by Someone who loves us, we don’t need to get too stressed over it. He knows what we need.
To pray about . . .
Father, it is really hard when things change. I don’t like feeling out of control. But I know You are always in control and always know what’s going on. Please help me to trust You when things are hard.
TRUSTING JESUS WILL KEEP US STEADY IN THE STORMY SEA OF CHANGE.
