INVISIBLE

In my part of the world we often experience the effect of something no one can see. Tornados tear apart homes, neighbourhoods and whole regions. And during each hurricane season, many people are shocked as winds of more than 100 miles an hour threaten to destroy everything they
have built.

All of this is the result of an unseen force. Sure, we see the wind’s effects (flags flapping and stuff flying about), but we can’t see the wind itself. It is totally invisible.

In a sense, this is also true of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2, when many Christians were first filled with the Holy Spirit, “suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting” (ACTS 2:2).

That wind was an obvious sign to those Christians that the unseen Spirit was at work in their lives. And He still works in our lives today! If you have decided to trust and follow Jesus, be encouraged. The Holy Spirit is at work making changes in your life to make you more and more like Jesus
(GALATIANS 5:22-23), while keeping all Christians together in one family (1 CORINTHIANS 12:13) and making us confident that God is with us (1 JOHN 3:24). The Holy Spirit is a powerful Person in our lives—even though we can’t see Him.

To Pray about . . .

Father, thank You for living in me by Your Holy Spirit. Help me to listen to You and rely on You. I want to see You work powerfully in me to change me into the person You want me to be.
