KEEP ASKING
Bible: Luke 11:1-13
So I say to you: ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Luke 11:9

I heard one girl say that she never prayed more than once for anything. She didn’t want to wear God out with her repeated requests.
Jesus’ teaching on prayer in Luke 11 paints a very different picture! He told a story about a man who went to his friend’s house at midnight and asked for some bread to feed his unexpected visitors. At first the friend refused, because he and his family were in bed. Finally he got up and gave him the bread—not out of friendship but because the caller was so persistent (LUKE 11:5-10).
Jesus used this parable to compare this reluctant friend with our generous heavenly Father. If an irritated neighbour will give in to his friend’s persistence, how much more readily will our heavenly Father—who loves to provide for us—give us all we need!
It’s true that God, in His great wisdom, may sometimes delay His answers to prayer. It’s also true that we must pray in agreement with the Bible and God’s plans and purposes. But within these things Jesus tells us to keep praying, keep asking and to keep trusting our needs to God (V.9). This way, we’ll know we’re looking to God for the answer, rather than being tempted to take matters into our own hands.
Don’t worry about wearing God out. He will never get tired of our prayers! He loves it when we come to Him with our needs and trust them to Him!
What I’m thankful for . . .
Thank You, Father, that I can bring my every need to You—again and again and again. And I know You will answer in Your perfect ways and timing.
GOD NEVER GETS TIRED OF OUR ASKING.
