HOLY!

God can do nothing that goes against His good, perfect, pure character—in other words, His holiness. Since He is holy by nature, everything He says and does comes from that perfection. Think about these things:
1. As a holy God, He is perfect. This means we can completely trust Him with our lives, no matter what is going on. We can surrender to His plans and leading because we are confident of the answer to Abraham’s question, “Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (GENESIS 18:25).

2. As a holy God, He is perfect in His justice and judgement. Those of us who trust Jesus will “receive what is due to us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” (2 CORINTHIANS 5:10). Whereas for those who are determined to reject Jesus, we read: “Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire” (REVELATION 20:15).

3. As a holy God, He is perfect in His truthfulness. We can take Him at His Word. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?” If God says it, then it is true. So no matter how we feel about ourselves, the Bible reveals the truth of who we are (1 JOHN 3:1).

4. As a holy God, He is perfect in His faithfulness. We read, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23).

We can have total confidence in our good, just, truthful and faithful God. He is holy.
