Good for you!

Good for you!

Bible:Proverbs 24:13-14

Wisdom is like honey for you: if you find it, there is a future hope (V.14).

Worldwide, people spend an estimated £80 billion on chocolate each year. That’s a lot of money! But maybe it’s not all that surprising. Chocolate, after all, is the best food in the world (as far as I’m concerned!). And all of us choc-a-holics celebrated when it was found to have significant health benefits too. Chocolate contains flavonoids that provide some protection against ageing and heart disease. Never has a health prescription been so well received (in moderation, of course!). Solomon says there’s another “sweet” that has even better benefits: wisdom. He compared having wisdom to eating honey (PROVERBS 24:13-14). It tastes good and is good. If we spend time in God’s wisdom in the Bible, we’ll find it enjoyable, exciting and everything we need for our learning and training in godliness for “every good work” (2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17). Wisdom is what allows us to make smart choices and understand the world around us. And it is worth investing in and sharing with others—as Solomon wanted to when he wrote part of the book of Proverbs. The Bible is a treat that we can enjoy without limit—no need for moderation! God, thank You for the teaching of Your words, they help me live my best life!
