Water where we need it
Bible: John 4:7-14
Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst (V.14).

Lake Baikal is the world’s deepest lake. Measuring one mile deep, nearly four hundred miles long and forty-nine miles across, it holds one-fifth of all the surface fresh water in the world. But this water is mostly inaccessible. Lake Baikal is in Siberia—one of the most remote areas of Russia. With water so desperately needed across much of our planet, it is ironic that such a huge supply of water is tucked away in such a far-off place. Lake Baikal may be remote and unusable, but there is another endless source of life-giving water available and accessible to those who need it most. When sitting at a well in Samaria, Jesus talked to a woman about a different kind of water. She had come to draw water from the well, but Jesus told her that she would soon get thirsty again. However, Jesus said, “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (JOHN 4:13-14). Many things in our world promise satisfaction, but they never fully meet our needs. They never fully meet the “thirst” we have. Jesus alone can truly satisfy us! That’s what He promised to the woman at the well; that’s what He promises us. And He is available to everyone, everywhere.
OUR NEEDS ARE TRULY MET IN JESUS.
