Caring prayers

Caring prayers

Bible:Romans 15:30-33

Reading

I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the
Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me (V.30).

I got a message from a friend. He set a great example we all can learn from, because his message showed how much he believed in the power of prayer. He told me about a girl in his school who had become pregnant. Her parents were threatening to force her to get an abortion. When my friend heard about it, he got on his phone and messaged hundreds of people, telling them about the girl’s situation and asking over and over, “Please pray for this girl.” His compassion for her was obvious—as well as his trust in God to answer prayer. My friend could have used his phone to gossip about that girl. Or he could have just forgotten about her and started playing games or browsing Instagram. Instead, he used his social media to get the right kind of attention for this girl and her needs. in Romans 15:30-33, the apostle Paul showed that he knew the value of prayer—whether it’s for ourselves or for someone else in need. What a lesson! It reminds us to always come to God with the stuff that’s going on. And it shows us an example of the kind of love that leads us to team up with others in caring prayer.

THERE’S NOT A SINGLE PERSON IN THE WORLD
YOU CAN’T HELP BY PRAYING FOR THEM.
