As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love

I bought a big red foil balloon at the supermarket. The message “I Love You” stretched across the front in big letters. But the very second I stepped out of the shop door, the balloon’s string slid through my fingers. I stood there watching it float away, and soon it was nothing more than a tiny red dot. Losing that balloon reminded me of the way love sometimes disappears from our lives. Friends cut us out, parents split up, church families fight and fall out over silly things. I’m so thankful that God’s love is steady; it keeps us going, even when love here on earth drifts away. In fact, it’s so reliable that Jesus tells us to live, or “remain” in His love (JOHN 15:9). He wants us to know it’s okay to settle in and get comfortable. We can always remain in God’s love because “neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers” (ROMANS 8:38), or anything else, can ever separate us from Jesus. Once we trust Him, God’s love is ours forever. Have you watched love disappear from your life? Rest in God’s unending love and care. He will never leave you or let you down.

GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU WILL NEVER EVER END.
