How great is our God!

How great is our God!

Bible: Job 38:31-41; 42:5-6

Can you loosen Orion’s belt? (JOB 38:31).

A team of astronomers say they have found a giant hole in the universe. The void they’ve discovered is in a part of the sky south of the Orion constellation. The empty place has no galaxies, stars or even dark matter. One of the astronomers said that the hole in the heavens is a billion lightyears across. When I try to think about the meaning of something like that, the fight goes out of me. I don’t know what to do with my thoughts. Who can relate or even begin to understand the massiveness of such emptiness? Then I remember what God did with Job. He drew this suffering man’s attention to the same part of the night sky. Using the constellation of Orion, along with many other incredible things in our world, God brought Job to the end of his reasoning and arguments (JOB 38:31; 42:5-6). He was simply left amazed by the God who made it all. I want to join Job in collapsing before God in surrender to His amazing, mind-blowing power and wisdom. I want to let go of my stress, anger and questions—giving them all to our awesome God. I want to shout out that my only confidence is in the immeasurable greatness of our God. What about you?
