How to be happy?

How to be happy?

Bible: Psalm 146

Reading

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (V.1).Whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he (PROVERBS 16:20 NKJV).

Everyone wants to be happy. But not many end up finding real happiness—
and definitely not a happiness that lasts. The reason is simple: most
people are looking for happiness in the wrong places.
Proverbs 16:20 tells us, “Whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he”
(nkjv). And Psalm 146:5 says that happiness and fulfilment comes to those
who find their help and hope in God.
Happiness comes from a real, personal relationship with God. But to
really experience that happiness, we must also work at it. I found this list of
things that can help us be happy:

  1. Give something away.
  2. Be kind.
  3. Always be thankful.
  4. Give energy to everything you do.
  5. Spend time with people who are older than you, and learn from them.
  6. Make sure you smile during each day.
  7. Pray to know God’s way.
  8. Plan as though you will live forever—you will.
  9. Live as though today is your last day on earth.
  10. Never take your eyes off Jesus.
These are excellent ideas for living a happy life. And, perhaps
surprisingly, every single one of them comes from the Bible! “Praise
the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing
praise to my God as long as I live” (PSALM 146:1-2)
