Finding Jesus

Finding Jesus

Bible: Revelation 3:14-22

Reading

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens
the door, I will come in (V.20).

If I asked the question, “Where’s Wally?” you’d probably think of the little guy in the red and white striped shirt and hat. I still like trying to find him in those crowded picture books. My dentist has a big Where’s Wally poster
on the ceiling as a nice distraction for anyone lying in the chair! Thankfully, finding Jesus is a lot easier than finding Wally. Jesus doesn’t play hide and seek. He says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock (REVELATION 3:20). You can find Him at the door of your life—the centre of your very existence—waiting to come in. He doesn’t just want to meet you at church, or to be kept in a box for special occasions. His right place is at the very centre of everything: our dreams, our wants, our needs, our plans, our day-to-day life. He wants a real relationship with the real you. And as good as that all is, I need to warn you that having Jesus at the centre of your life may be a little unsettling. You probably have dark corners and selfish secrets that He will want to talk with you about and start to change. But nothing compares to knowing Him. Welcome Jesus in and He will clear out the clutter and mess, helping you to live in purity and peace as you follow His ways and walk closely with Him each day.

JESUS IS STANDING AT THE DOOR OF YOUR LIFE

—WELCOME HIM IN!
