It’s your fault

It’s your fault

Bible: Genesis 3 : 1-13

Reading

The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit
from the tree, and I ate it” (V.12).

I forgot my brother’s birthday. I know; not great is it? So I rushed to the shops to try and pick up a card. Scanning the shelves, I found a card with a chimpanzee on the front holding a phone in his hand. This is what it said: “I better not hear about how upset you are that I missed your birthday. I mean, how do you know I wasn’t in a serious car accident and lying in some ditch out in the middle of nowhere? . . . Well, I may have forgotten your birthday, but I didn’t exactly get any phone calls to see if I was okay. All I know is you better have a good excuse why I didn’t hear from you on your birthday!”

Avoiding blame comes pretty naturally to us all! In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve ate the fruit that God had clearly said was not for them. When God spoke with them, Adam chose to blame Eve (and God Himself)
by saying: “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it” (GENESIS 3:12). When we mess up, we can either take the blame or try to put the spotlight on someone else. It’s hard to own up when we get something wrong, but that’s the only way we can know God’s forgiveness as He moves
us on and helps us grow. Blaming others only breaks up friendships and hurts others.

ADMITTING WHEN WE’VE GONE WRONG

IS A GOOD WAY TO TRUST GOD.
