Bible: Ephesians 2:14-22
You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people (V.19).

A few years ago seven Russian sailors were rescued when their small subgot trapped in a fishing net. The men had survived three cold, dark days on the bottom of the ocean and had less than six hours of oxygen left. Meanwhile, up above, a frantic, unified rescue effort by Russian, Japanese, British and American ships was underway. Finally, the sub was freed. A Russian official praised and thanked everyone involved, saying, “We have seen in deeds, not in words, what the brotherhood of the sea means.”
The book of Ephesians talks about the unity of Christians by talking about the oneness of “the household of God” (EPHESIANS 2:19). The Gentiles (non-Jews), who were once “excluded” and “foreigners” (V.12), had now been “brought near by the blood of Christ” (V.13), uniting them with the whole of God’s family. This unity is to be seen throughout the Christian community today.
And those who trust Jesus are given the most important rescue effort to be part of. People are dying without Jesus. That includes our friends and classmates at school, and even people in our families. Praise God that you can work together with your church and Christian friends in this mission to bring hope, salvation and the love of Jesus to the people you know. That’s what God’s family is all about.
A HEALTHY CHURCH IS THE BEST WITNESS TO A HURTING WORLD.
