Pulling Together

Pulling Together

Bible: Hebrews 10:19-25

Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds (V.24).

Why do more than many people pay money to go on adventure camps. They must climb walls, slog through mud and walk for thousands of kilometers in the sun and the rain ? Some see it as a challenge to push their limits or face their fears. For others, they love the teamwork with other people on the obstacle course. One person called it “a no-judgement zone” where strangers are all made to undertake the same tasks on an equal terrain.

The Bible tells us about the importance of teamwork as a way of living out our faith in Jesus. “Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (HEB. 10:24-25).

Our goal is not to ‘finish first’ in the race of faith, but to reach out to others in our churches, schools and family to help them and share Jesus’ love along the way. The day will come when we complete our life on earth. Until then, let’s spur each other on, be ready to help and keep pulling together every day.
