The Unknown

The Unknown

Bible: Hebrews 11:8-12

By faith Abraham … went, even though he did not know where he was going (V.8).

Have you ever been asked to do something that seemed impossible? Or can you think of a time you’ve had to go somewhere you’ve never been before? Or do something new for the first time? These kind of unknowns fill us with questions, worries and ‘what ifs’.

God often leads us into new situations or to meet new people when we follow Him. Obeying His commands to forgive others, to value Him above anything else or to give up some of the stuff we like can leave us in a scary place of not knowing what’s going to happen next.

Imagine how Abraham felt when God asked him to move his whole family without telling him where they were going (GEN. 12:1-3). God also asked Abraham to stay in an unknown land. Abraham must have thought about going back home to the place and people he knew. But he trusted God; and he kept following Him.

Worrying about the future and God’s plans can be very harmful. Knowing how much He loves us, we simply need to trust Him for whatever is around the corner. Like Abraham, when we hold on to God, who knows all things, we’re in good hands—no matter where He takes us.

NEVER BE AFRAID TO TRUST THE UNKNOWN FUTURE TO THE ALL-KNOWING GOD.
