A Perfect World

A Perfect World

Bible: Revelation 21:1-5

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” (V.5).

Dimple was given homework after school one day. She had to write an essay with the title: “My Perfect World”. She wrote: “In my perfect world … netflix is free, ice-cream is everywhere and the sky is blue all the time, with only a few clouds that have funny shapes.” Then she wrote a more serious idea. In that world, she said, “No one will come home to bad news.”

No one will come home to bad news. Isn’t that great? As Christians, those words point powerfully to the confidence we have in Jesus. He is “making everything new”—healing and changing our world (REV. 21:5).

Heaven is the place of “no more”—no more bad stuff, no more death,
no more sadness, no more pain, no more tears (V.4)! It is a place of living with
God, who by His love has rescued us and made us His own (V.3). What
incredible happiness awaits us!

And we can enjoy a taste of this already, here and now. As we meet
with God daily, we enjoy knowing and resting with Him (COL. 1:12-13). And
even as we struggle with different problems, we also know that Jesus has
already won all our battles (2:13-15). He has beaten sin and death—so we
know His home is our home.

What I’m Thankful For…

Jesus, thank You that You are making all things new. Help us to live looking
forward to the day we will live with You forever and ever

GOD’S PERFECT WORLD IS FOR ALL WHO TRUST IN JESUS.
