Secrets

Bible: Deuteronomy 29:10-29

The secret things belong to the Lord our God (V.29).

We read in Deuteronomy 29:29 that God has secrets He keeps to Himself. One of them is our future. Moses was reminding the people of Israel about God’s promise to be their God and give them a permanent home in the Promised Land (29:13). Moses also warned that they would be taken away

if they ignored or rejected God (VV.25-28).

They were not to wonder about how their future would turn out. Instead, they were to concentrate on trusting God and living for Him one day at a time.

But there is more to the “secret things” that belong to God. He is God and we are not. So He doesn’t give us answers to all the “whys” of His ways. He has revealed, though, how we can know Him personally today by trusting Jesus as our Saviour. When we give Jesus our lives, we give Him our future too, trusting Him to lead us through all the ups and downs that may come. And we know, no matter what we go through, that we will one day be in His home with Him forever. Although we may still have many questions, we can be sure that God’s secrets are always for our good (ROM. 8:28).

WE CAN TRUST OUR ALL-KNOWING GOD FOR THE UNKNOWN FUTURE.
