Ring in a Bin

Ring in a Bin

Seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

(MATTHEW 7:7).

Matthew 12:44-46
Reading

One day in school, my friend Neha was in a panic. She’d dropped her ring somewhere. We looked everywhere. The next day we turned up to school early to check through the bins, just in case.

I ripped open a bin bag. “You’re not quitting on this are you?!” “I’m not losing my ring!” she said.

Neha’s determination reminds me of a story Jesus told: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field” (MATT. 13:44). Certain things are worth giving everything for!

Throughout the Bible, God promises that those who look for Him will find Him. In Deuteronomy He told the Israelites that they would find Him when they turned from their sin and totally focused on Him (4:28-29). In the book of 2 Chronicles, King Asa was encouraged by a similar promise (15:2). And in Jeremiah, God gave the same promise to His people who had been captured by a foreign army, saying He would bring them back home (29:13-14). If we focus on God through the Bible, our time at church, praying and in our daily lives, we will find Him. Over time, we’ll know Him on a deeper level.

TO FIND GOD, WE JUST NEED TO LOOK TO HIM.
