An Amazing View
From his dwelling-place he watches all who live on earth (V.14).

I like using Google Maps to look up places I want to travel to one day, or parts of the world I’m going to on holiday. It’s fun to ‘wander’ around the roads and towns as if I were really there.
Google Maps can help us see a lot of the world—but I guess it’s only a small glimpse of how God must see things.
One psalm writer was excited by this when he wrote: “From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling-place he watches all who live on earth—he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do . . . The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine” (PSALM 33:13-19).
God isn’t like a camera or satellite, seeing everything from a long way away. God knows His world and us personally. He’s deeply involved in who we are and what we do. The Bible says He wants us to trust Him and follow His ways. We are never out of God’s sight, and He keeps a close eye on everyone who trusts in Him.
For all of us who have given our lives to Jesus, it’s encouraging to know that we’re central to His amazing view each day.
Thinking it over…
How does it make you feel to know that God sees you every moment of every day? How might thinking about this change some of the ways you spend your time?
