MONEY
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God (V.17).
1 Timothy 6:6-19

Are you saving up for anything at the moment? Looking for any extra ways to get a few more rupees? You might have already realised just how distracting money can be. We see friends with better gadgets and clothes and think, I wish I had the cash for that!
Money was one of Jesus’ big topics. He talked about it a lot! It’s not that there is anything wrong with money in itself. But He warned that trusting in money and using it to feel better about ourselves or to get our own way can block up our relationship with God. If we’re relying on money to get us where we want to be in life, then we’re not relying on Him to lead us anymore.
Jesus told one story about a rich “fool”. He got things wrong because, even though he was doing well in life, he wasn’t “rich towards God” (LUKE 12:13-21). So, what does it mean to be rich towards God? Paul tells us that we are to “be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share” (1 TIM. 6:18).
Interesting! God measures our ‘wealth’ by how we live, not by what we have. Do you rate yourself based on what you can afford or how big your family’s house is? Take a step back and think about what really matters (MATT. 6:19-21,16:26; EPH. 2:6-7)
MONEY ISN’T HOW WE BECOME RICH —IT’S THROUGH KNOWING JESUS.
